Downtown Sydney

Hello!!! It has been far too long since I wrote a post but for all that don't know I am now 20!!!! I had a great Aussie Birthday with some great friends I have met here and for those who could not see this sassy pic of me from facebook here it is. Twenty years of all sas.

Since the time left in Sydney is so short about every weekend my friends and I try to find a new area of the city we have not seen yet and start exploring. The prettiest area we found was St. Mary's Cathedral which sits on the outskirts of Hyde Park downtown and although you can not take pics on the inside the outside is just as beautiful, and inside you can see the stain glass windows along the narrow sanctuary. Right next to the Cathedral is also the grounds where most convicts lived when they first got to Sydney and you can walk around and see how people in that time lived. I've discovered that Sydney is so dynamic with so many elements from contemporary to historical.

The Contemporary Art Museum was a suggestion someone made to us and we were told it was a must. All the pieces in the museum were nice but it also made me realize that I do not have an artistic eye and can not look at a bunch of iron melted together and say wow, but I applaud those who can. One wall of the museum had abstract shapes and colors and that was probably my favorite part. Overall, it was a nice way to spend the weekend.
